Michael Dowling has over 30 years of diverse international real estate funds management, finance, investment and development experience. He has sourced, analyzed, undertaken due diligence, managed closings, financed, undertaken planning and development for office, industrial, residential
and retail assets in China, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, Australia, US, UK, Spain, France, Germany and Russia.
Michael has particular skills in development, finance, funds management and corporate governance, valuation and risk management for property investment.
Michael's analysis, underwriting and research skills have been honed with years at Jones Lang LaSalle, Citibank, London and Edinburgh Trust (LET), Consolo Limited, Redwood and LaSalle Investment Management. He has lived and worked in Australia, UK, Spain, Russia, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and India.
He experience spans residential development, land subdivision and office, industrial/logistics, retail investments and developments.
His property finance and capital structuring work began with Citibank in Australia across residential, commercial and mixed use development as well as land subdivision; and continued in the United Kingdom where he financed a number of residential developments and office investments primarily in London and three private equity funds. At LET, Consolo, Allianz and Redwood he financed residential developments in Hong Kong, Noosa, industrial development and investments in Moscow and Sydney, office and mixed use investments in Tokyo, Osaka, Jakarta, Singapore, Germany and Turkey; including an IPO for German and Turkish assets; privatisation of listed LET vehicle in Hong Kong; equity and debt structuring of The Executive Centre serviced offices throughout Asia.
His funds management experience includes Citibank in the UK where he launched 3 funds focused on residential refurbishment and development in London, office development in London, a diversified investment vehicle in Spain and established Citibank Real Estate Investment Management in Europe involving equity in excess of US$300 million. In Australia A$350 million was raised in a fully
underwritten Listed Property Trust for Allianz to invest in Europe and Turkey where he was the designated Fund Manager.
He was also responsible for raising in excess of US$250 million for property investments in Moscow and Tokyo for the Redwood Group.
Property Asset Management, Planning and Development Management with LET in Hong Kong he managed office developments in Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta and Bangkok and a retail scheme in Malaysia. He has also developed residential property in London and Sydney, land subdivision in Noosa, Dicky Beach, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane (Australia), industrial development and planning in Sydney, Moscow, India, China and South Korea.
